Simple Data Capture - From the Internet to your Diskette

We can use the Internet to find an amazing array of data. To turn the data and information that we find into knowledge, we must integrate that information into our ideas which address the problem in which we are engaged. To do that you need to be able to copy what is on the Web page (e.g., Internet file) and paste it into a word processing or other type of file. To review or learn how to do this, watch the movies (videoclips) below.

More On Turning Data into Knowledge

If you would like to go beyond the skills you learned above, there are two sets of tutorials that can help. These tutorials are in the form of a story. Each story covers basically the same information processing skills. Pick the story theme that works best for you. As you read, new videoclips will be available to empower you to go further. There are many powerful ways to turn data into knowledge for your needs. If the movies don't play?

All the movies that are found on this page and others can be played on Macintosh, Windows and Unix platforms. Each of these platforms will have to have the Quicktime system code installed. The current version of Quicktime is 3.0 and it is available from links on Apple Computer's Quicktime page: http://quicktime.apple.com. Quicktime is capable of playing files in nearly every video and audio format available on the Internet. If the movie plays but you do not hear the audio, it may be that the hardware or software is not configured properly or it may be that you do not have the most current version of Quicktime.
