Television

This section provides selected links to cable and the major television networks that provide services and shows relevant to children, teachers and faculty. This includes forthcoming show titles and broadcast times, specials resources related to broadcasts, and more.
Cable in the Classroom (CIC)
CIC is supported by the cable industry. This paper and online publication tracks shows of educational value on a month by month basis. Because of this focus on educational needs, it is the most useful of the television sites for curriculum planning. It will identify shows of interest on PBS, but the scheduling varies with each state's control of PBS offerings. So, you will still have to check local or state listings as to the actual broadcast dates and times for PBS. Further, you can seldom search more than a month or two ahead. Search each month for broadcasts relevant to your unit and lesson plans.
TV Guide Online
You can search several weeks worth of forthcoming shows.
Discovery Channel Online.
Discovery Channel provides video broadcasts over cable television and web pages related to those broadcasts along with news of Channel Scheduling. Discovery OnAir is the place for everything you want to know about the Discovery or the Learning Channel.
PBS, PBS ONLINE
(Public Broadcasting Service Online) - Updated daily, PBS ONLINE offers information and interactive activities related to public television programming, station home pages, educational resources and their educational broadcasts that have Web pages.
