Criteria
Have a minimum of 5 slides but not much more than that. Five is excellent
for this assignment. This should be general enough to be re-usable for different
audiences: your students, other teachers and administrators, and community
members.

The two folders with your work must be on your PAWS account, with
the Win version and Mac version of slideshow and relevant audioclip and
videoclip of the correct format in each. Insert appropriate still images
that support your text and theme.
|

. |
Have a title slide.
If you did not use copyright free images or you do not own the copyright to all images that you are using, be sure
to include the proper Fair Use phrase on your opening slide and cite the
source of your images in small print on either on the page where they are used or in an
extra bibliography
slide six at the end. ("This presentation has been prepared under the Fair Use exemption
of the U.S. copyright Law and is restricted from further use.") If the
Fair Use statement must be used, then this presentation cannot go on a
web site unless the presentation is only viewable by first entering a password
that only a selected audience knows. |

On slide two have a video slide that contains your unit plan
video composition. |
7 |
|
On slide three have an audio track slide that contains the audio only
version of your unit plan video composition. Both media elements were created in
chapter 7. |

-
Two additional slides with prompts for students that should be used to hold information the students
will provide to you to type in on the slide during your presentation.
-
Use a range of relevant still images, from clipart to other formats learned
in Chapter six.

Audio narration plays automatically, automatically moving to the next
slide. The speaker is enthusiastic and clear, not rushed or stumbling over
words. Borrow a microphone or buy one. Inexpensive ones can be found that
will connect to your computer at Walmart and other stores for as little
as ten dollars. Remember that you are NOT reading the text
on the slides, but using the key ideas and images on the slide to remind
you of what further you wish to say about the ideas on a slide. Do NOT
read the slide. The audience does not need you to do that. If you are not
yet good at expanding on your text on the spur of the moment, then you
will need to make up a script to help you with the additional thoughts
that need to be said. |

Issues with spelling, grammar and copyright can result in an F for the
assignment. Run the spelling checker before submitting the assignment.
Ask another person to skim through your presentation for grammar but you
are ultimately responsible, not your reviewer.
Print out your complete Powerpoint presentation using the 6 slides to
a page feature.
Print out this rubric. Use this rubric to complete your own assessment
of your work. Bring your self-evaluation with you to class. If requested,
put your ZIP disk in a manila folder and add your name to the outside.
However, if class time is available, the assignment will be graded in class.
Staple your completed grading rubric on top and be ready to hand it
in at the beginning of class. Bring your headphones to class on the day
this is due so that you can listen to your classmates' slideshows.
